At the Whitney Child Centre we believe in the Foundations of Learning: Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement and Expression.

Operational Days

  • September to June

    March Break: One (1) week

    Winter Break: Two (2) weeks

First day of school is Tuesday, September 5, 2023 for full time children.

Part-time children have staggered entry over the first two weeks of September and will be communicated to all parents.

Only full-time daycare children, registered kindergarten and school-aged children may attend on the public school PA days. Part time children are not accepted on these days.

Select a program that suits your needs.

Toddler Program

Ages: 18 - 30 months

Your youngest learners need to feel safe and supported so they can learn with their whole body and all of their senses. We create rich environments that encourage toddlers to explore and discover the world around them; helping them to engage in experiences designed to support their optimal development in all domains.

Pre-School Program

Ages: 2.5 - 3.8 years

Our program focuses on giving our preschoolers a strong foundation for the elementary years. This includes academic concepts of literacy and math, such as counting, colouring, and letter recognition and developing large and fine motor skills, such as walking in a line and using a pencil. It also includes social and school-readiness skills, such as making friends, sharing and taking turns.

Kindergarten Morning and Afternoon Child Care Program

Grades: Jr. and Sr.

Our program focuses on building relationships, developing physical skills, and teaching developmental appropriate practices, which include activities and experiences for all domains of development such as - cognitive, social-emotional, language and literacy, physical- motor and creative.

School-age Morning and Afternoon Child Care Program

Grades: 1 - 6

Our program focuses on building relationships, developing physical skills, and teaching developmental appropriate practices, which include activities and experiences for all domains of development such as - cognitive, social-emotional, language and literacy, physical- motor and creative.
